Going away soon? We know it’s all too easy to get caught up in the excitement prior to your upcoming solo holiday with us, so much so it’s easy to forget even the most basic travel essentials!
So, we asked our Facebook Community, who are very experienced travellers, for their Top Tips for travelling solo…
Here’s what they recommended:
How to Pack for Your Solo Holiday
1. Use packing cubes which are ideal when your itinerary includes a stay in multiple hotels. You can then pack separately for each one which will mean you don’t have to unpack everything. – Sally E
2. Choose garments that you can layer, if need be, and outfits that you can wear by day but also by night with the addition of a few pieces of jewellery. – Aline A
Safety on Your Solo Travels
3. If tap water is unfit to drink or tastes unpleasant, as an alternative to bottled water use a ‘Water to Go’ filter bottle which “reduces the volume of contaminants in water by up to 99.9999%”. – Jennifer S
4. Insure your holiday the day that you book it, or have annual insurance. – Diana D
Look After Your Finances While Abroad
5. Get a credit card that doesn’t charge fees for spending abroad. You also get a great rate if you pay in local currency as it is converted using the business rate and not the tourist rate. – Anita M
6. Check your passport is in date, and for six months after your return. – Sarah S

7. Always pack a set of underwear, a t-shirt, necessary toiletries and ALL your chargers in your hand luggage in case your luggage gets lost in transit. - Hils S
