An independent republic, now an EU member, Slovenia is still an unspoilt little-known gem. Perched on the edge of the Julian Alps, close to the Triglav National Park and the Karavanke mountain range lies the town of Bled, known for its glacial lake. In the centre of the lake is an island where for generations pilgrims have crossed its waters to ring the bell in the idyllic 15th century church.
During your stay you will visit Ljubljana, with its three bridges and its fish market; admire the natural beauty of the Postojna caves, easily reached by a thrilling train ride. You will also enjoy the Istrian coastal town of Piran with its Venetian architecture and marvel at the magnificence of Lipizzaner stallions in their original home of Lipica.
With luxury wellness and spa facilities in a four-star hotel overlooking the lake and gentle days with boat rides, scenic horse and carriage rides, a cable car ride, a wine tasting and coffee and cake all included in this relaxing holiday; it is a great way to spoil yourself!
JULY 17th DEPARTURE – BLED DAYS & NIGHTS FESTIVAL
Our July departure will coincide with the 'Bled days and nights' festival. Where stalls of local arts and crafts will be on display and there are concerts along the promenade. The highlight is the traditional Bled night where 15,000 candles in egg-shells are floated on the lake. They illuminate the whole lake and surroundings and this culminates with a magnificent firework display
