    Description

Situated on the northern coast of Tuscany, surrounded by the Apuan Alps, Viareggio is known as the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea for its long sandy beaches, pine-woods and beautiful promenade with Art Deco architecture of villas housing shops and cafés. This makes a perfect stage for its Carnival held since 1873. From your grandstand seating you and your fellow travelling companions will witness parades consisting of giant floats, weighing up to 40 tonnes, as high as 27 metres and carrying up to 250 dancers! Also, folk bands and performers with original masks, offer excitement, culture and tradition in a wide programme of entertainment.

Outside of Viareggio we include a guided tour of Pisa with its well-maintained Romanesque buildings, Gothic churches and Renaissance piazzas and best known for the iconic Leaning Tower.  A day exploring the ancient walled city of Lucca, one of the most loved cities of Tuscany, with a visit to a rural wine cellar for wine and olive oil tasting and a day spent in Florence, widely celebrated as the most beautiful city in Italy. Enjoy Italy’s finest piazzas and the party atmosphere with new found friends!
