      Zermatt-Matterhorn Railway adventure

    Description

Breathtaking views, magnificent mountains, unspoilt nature, glistening lakes and genuine hospitality - that is the magic of Switzerland! Staying in the idyllic chalet village of Adelboden in the Bernese Oberland, with a range of amenities, all One Traveller guests have complimentary use of local buses and nine local cable cars, two of which are within 200 metres of your hotel.

As well as attractive chocolate box scenery, excursions are included to the capital city of Berne, with its elaborate Zytglogge, or Time Bell, a Gothic clock tower complete with moving puppets. There will also be a scenic drive through the Simmental Valley to the medieval town of Gruyeres that gives its name to the area and its delicious cheese. Three excursions include spectacular train rides, something for which the Swiss are famous. The day to Zermatt involves three stunning train journeys including the Gornergrat Matterhorn Railway, to experience a unique panorama of some of the Alps' mightiest peaks.

As well as all the excursions, this holiday has a host of our usual extra touches. We include tea and coffee on some afternoons in the hotel, a drink with dinner each evening, a traditional Swiss fondue lunch and excellent dining in a family run hotel.
