    Description

The Costa de la Luz (Coast of Light) is known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and fine beaches. This holiday is based on the outskirts of Rota, an ancient town north of the Bay of Cádiz and a locally kept secret. The old town has a medieval atmosphere and is ideal for a stroll. The climate is predominantly Mediterranean, with generally warm, dry summers and mild winters, making the area a year-round destination.

The region has three fine cities, Seville, the capital is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Some cities astound, others slowly win you over. Its historic centre, dominated by a colossal Gothic cathedral, is an intoxicating mix of resplendent Mudéjar palaces, baroque churches and winding medieval lanes. The ancient port of Cadiz with its historic naval architecture and battle-hardened forts was the base for exploration and trade to the Americas. Sherry drinkers can raise a glass for our visit to Jerez, where this classic tipple has been made for centuries. Also, enjoy a display of horsemanship at the Royal Andalucian Equestrian School of Art and visit Gibraltar, the southernmost point of Europe, strategically positioned at the western end of the Mediterranean and forming one of the ancient Pillars of Hercules.

Under the guidance of expert local chefs, enjoy a private cooking class as well as introducing you to the Spanish language along with its cuisine. Our friendly, family-run hotel offers an excellent base for our included excursions as well as to relax in the free time that this holiday offers.
