    Description

A deep love lasting over thirty years linked Giacomo Puccini to the charming hamlet of Torre del Lago, which, after his death, was renamed Torre del Lago Puccini to the pride of all its inhabitants. He was searching for a picturesque and quiet place where his creative genius could spring out. Each summer this stunning area holds the Puccini Festival where we include two performances, La Bohème and Madame Butterfly in the open-air theatre overlooking the lake in gold section seating. On one evening you will arrive in style by boat with dinner on board.

We include days in Tuscany’s finest Renaissance cities, with a guided tour of Pisa with its well-maintained Romanesque buildings, Gothic churches and piazzas and of course the iconic Leaning Tower. Also, a day exploring the ancient walled city of Lucca, one of the most loved cities of Tuscany and a day in Florence, widely celebrated as the most beautiful city in Italy. For a more relaxed day we venture to the rolling hills and vineyards to enjoy an olive oil and wine tasting with lunch in a rural wine cellar.
