    Description

An award-winning Dutch violinist, conductor and showman, Andre Rieu has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. His innovative stage performances recreate the atmosphere of 19th-century Viennese dance halls and are famed for their high-energy drama and sense of fun. Andre founded The Johann Strauss Orchestra, which now consists of up to 50 musicians, in 1987. Performing all over the world, Andre Rieu and his orchestra have been instrumental in reviving waltz music and what better place to enjoy this than the city where it all began.

Few cities can boast the imperial grandeur of Vienna. The heart and historical centre of the city, the ‘Ringstrasse’, houses imposing buildings and monuments such as the Rathaus (town hall), the Burgtheater, the University, the Parliament and the State Opera House. In the Hofburg you will tour the Imperial Apartments and the Treasury housing the Crown Jewels of the Habsburgs. A visit will be made to Schönbrunn Palace, the former imperial hunting grounds with a tour of the interior, designed to eclipse Versailles, and entrance to the gardens and other attractions. Enjoy a strudel-making workshop in Schönbrunn Palace and a farewell dinner and concert in the magnificent intimate setting of the Palais Auersperg.
