We have a revised itinerary for our holidays in 2019, which now includes a visit to the Born Free Foundation’s elephant transit home, where guests can witness the majestic and playful animals being fed and cared for, as well as learning about the organisation’s vital conservation efforts in the country.
Of course this isn’t the only highlight of the holiday, however. Take a scenic and fascinating rail journey up to Nuwara Eliya and sweep past the traditional tea plantations that dot the landscape on your climb up to 6,000 feet above sea level. Sri Lankan hill-country is stunning and the altitude also offers a respite from the year-round warm temperatures.
All our holidays are inclusive of flights, accommodation in four and five-star hotels, all meals, daily excursions, exclusive transportation and the dedicated services of a One Traveller Tour Manager and local guide throughout the holiday.
Our visits are carefully timed to capture the country at its best. We have departures in January, March, August and November 2019, with each offering its own unique advantages. For those travelling in August, our visit is timed to witness the stunning gathering of up to 600 elephants around Lake Minneriya – a sight that will live long in the memory!
At the end of the holiday, guests also have the option to extend their stay and remain in their beach resort for an additional four nights if they so wish. A luxurious and relaxing end to a holiday of a lifetime!
We still have limited space on our holidays to Sri Lanka (exclusively for solo travellers) departing 24th January and 7th March 2019. There is currently also good availability on our August and November departures. We hope you can find an opportunity to join us.
