Yesterday the Indian government announced that British Citizens will no longer need to undertake the complicated visa application process to travel to this incredible country and this cuts out the hassle of having to travel and attend an Indian visa application centre in person. As of Saturday August 15th entrance to India is by means of an electronic visa authorisation system (eTV) which is available to complete on line and costs approximately US$60 (approx. £40 and payable by Visa or MasterCard). This must be completed no later than 5 days prior to travel. The applicant, a family member or friend can apply for this on your behalf by logging on to the following web address:
When making the application you will need to scan the photo page of your passport together with a recent photograph of yourself. All other details that you will require to make your application will be contained on your booking confirmation. If you would prefer us to obtain the eTV on your behalf, we are happy to do so for an additional administrative charge of £75 (including the eTV fee).
This is the same process for our holidays to the USA, Canada (2016) and Sri Lanka. This means that these holidays and now our 16 day holiday to Delhi, Royal Rajasthan and Bombay are simply a few clicks online or just a phone call away.
