Welcome to Ben & Nia!
Here at One Traveller holidays we are pleased to announce that we have welcomed two new members of staff into the One Traveller team - Ben Taylor and Nia Wycherley.
Ben has excellent internet experience in the single traveller market and has joined One Traveller to advance our online presence. Director of One Traveller holidays Ian Darkin said: “It’s great to have Ben in house to oversee the development of our brand new website. With Ben’s skills we are confident that many people will benefit from our single traveller holidays who as yet do not even know we exist!”
With Ben’s strong background in the single travel market, he understands the hurdles sometimes faced when deciding to travel solo. With this knowledge and passion for single travel comes the understanding.
Nia joined the One Traveller team in February 2013. Nia is a well educated young lady having studied Chemistry at Oxford University. Nia is working closely with Emma to oversee all aspects of the administration from visa applications to selling holidays. Whilst single travel isn’t blending chemicals in a laboratory, there are some interesting parallels that can be drawn between the two; both require careful consideration, planning and meticulous attention to detail to ensure you end up with a finished product that works as intended! So with this in mind, we know Nia is a wonderful fit with One Traveller holidays and will continue to be a highly valued member of our team.

Singles Holiday To St Petersburg With Ian In April 2013
Well we wondered how long it would last!! Ian Darkin founder of One Traveller holidays for mature single travellers will be leading our singles holiday to St Petersburg on the April 14th departure. Despite researching new destinations for our loyal guests and busy with the day to day running, and attention to detail of One Traveller holidays, Ian’s passion and enthusiasm for this city is too great. He will be leaving Emma, Daniel and his parents to run the office whilst he shows the magnificent palaces of the Romanovs and this stunning city to our group on our April 14th departure on this singles holiday to St Petersburg. Always a favourite with Ian he yearns to return to being a One Traveller Tour Manager from time to time meeting the guests and ensuring that our efforts in the office are being enjoyed and casting his detailed eye over all aspects of the programme. Having escorted dozens of singles holidays to St Petersburg he knows the city well and is a mine of information from history to the nitty gritty of where banks etc. are and great insider tips on where to shop, drink and eat.
Our hotel (the 4 star Dostoevsky) was recently renovated and lies right by the famous shopping street (the “Nevsky Prospect”) with local services, amenities and numerous shops close to hand. Also the Dostoevsky is just ten minutes stroll to the iconic Cathedral of the Spilled Blood. After arriving Ian will treat you to Champagne and Canapes in the hotel's 7th floor bar with a panoramic view over the city. Armed with a 1913 guide book Michael Portillo has been exploring some of the great cities of Europe during his recent BBC series Great Continental Railway Journeys which still has three more episodes to run every Thursday evening on BBC2 at 9.00pm. One Travellers single traveller’s can also follow in his footsteps.
The once great empire of Austria-Hungary, domain of the famous Habsburg monarchs is where our single travellers can immerse themselves in the magnificent city of Budapest and the beautiful and elegant city of Vienna with its pre-war decadence on our 9-day Prague, Vienna and Budapest singles holidays. With many meals and most excursions included, interesting stops between cities and a warm family in the Vienna Woods it truly is a great view of these three cities and not just a fleeting glance.
