Itinerary & What's included
Prague City breaks: Full itinerary
Please note that the itinerary below is just to give you an idea of how the tour will look. You will do/have the opportunity to take part in everything mentioned below however it may be in a slightly different order depending on circumstances.
Day One – Travel from UK to Prague
This is your travelling day from the UK across to Prague. When you get to Heathrow airport you will be met by your Tour Manager who will be accompanying you across on the Czech Airlines flight to Prague. Czech Airlines is the Czech Republic’s state run airline and the onboard service is excellent. You will also meet your travelling companions.
On arrival at the airport in Prague your Tour Manager will arrange for your luxury coach to transfer you to your hotel for your Prague City breaks 4 night stay.
On arrival at the hotel you will check in and your Tour Manager will let you know what time you will be meeting later for the drinks reception and the 4 course evening meal. The schedule will start properly the following day.
Day 2 – Included Tour of Prague
In the morning, after a nice breakfast in the hotel you will meet up with your Tour Manager and the rest of the party and you will be transferred by coach into the centre of Prague for your included relaxed walking tour of the city. Prague is a largely pedestrianised city which means that all the main attractions can and must be seen on foot. For example you can stand on the Old Town Square and 10 minutes walking in one direction will take you to the Wenceslas Square, 10 minutes in another direction will take you to the Charles Bridge and 10 minutes in yet another direction will take you to the Jewish Quarter. The morning’s relaxed walk will be interrupted with an elevenses stop! The tour itself will be guided by a local Czech guide who has been carefully selected by ONE TRAVELLER to give you the best introduction to this beautiful city.
After the Walking tour you will have an important decision to make; namely, do you want to spend the afternoon entirely free to shop or would you like to join our optional lunch cruise which is onboard a boat exclusively for ONE TRAVELLER clients. The cruise lasts for one and a half hours and includes a buffet lunch and a live musician as well as lunch and a couple of drinks. After the cruise you will have more time in the centre to shop.
After free time in the afternoon the coach with the Tour Manager will transfer you back to your hotel.
This evening you will have the opportunity to eat a 3 course meal in one of Prague’s most stunning buildings (The Municipal House) whilst being serenaded by live piano music and then over to the exhibition grounds to see the spectacular 3000 jet fountain display (dancing to mainly classical music) at night time.
Day 3 – Included Prague Castle
After a good night’s rest and an enjoyable breakfast you will be taken on our coach to visit the most visited Tourist attraction in the city, the Prague Castle. To call it just a ‘Castle’ is actually misleading as the Castle is a little bit like a Kremlin (a walled city). Within the grounds of the Castle you will find the St. Vitus Cathedral (where the ‘St. Vitus’s dance’ gets its name), the Old Royal Palace and the Golden Lane. Our included guided trip (with your specially selected ONE TRAVELLER local tour guide) will take us to all these things and will last the whole morning. The afternoon will be free for you to enjoy Prague at your leisure – your Tour Manager can recommend some nice things for you to do in your free time. After your free afternoon you will be transferred back to your hotel along with the Tour Manager and the rest of the party.
This evening the meal is included at the hotel.
After this evening’s meal you will have the opportunity to see a classical concert in the centre of the City in one of Prague’s most impressive concert halls. The exact performance will be confirmed in resort.
Day 4 – Included Day to Karlovy Vary
Today after breakfast we will be leaving the hotel to go to the Spa town of Karlovy Vary.
Karlovy Vary (”Charles's bath”), is a city located in the north western part of the Czech Republic. The city is famous for its mineral springs which were believed to have been discovered in 1347 by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV.
We will travel to the city; have a guided tour of the Centre, followed by some free time before returning to our hotel in Prague.
For your last evening in Prague you will have the opportunity to finish off in style by going to a very exclusive dinner and dance ‘Gypsy style’ evening. Czechs clad in traditional Eastern European style dress, band playing Traditional as well as contemporary music and very talented singers. Watch the professionals as they dance their traditional folk dances such as the Polka, the Chardash and the Mazurka and many other dances. The 3 course meal is excellent and drink is all included in the price.
Day 5 – The Village of Karlsteijn
As the flight back to the UK is this evening, this gives us the perfect opportunity to have another outing (if you choose to). This time we take you to the village of Karlsteijn (located 1 hour from Prague). Here you can visit the picture perfect Castle and potter around in the Village picking up those last minute gifts and having 1 more delicious Czech meal. We will transfer from Karlsteijn to the airport for our return flight to the UK. This will then conclude our Prague city break.
