Visa Information:
We will obtain a China Visa for you using the information supplied at the time of booking. Please note that in certain cases it may be necessary for us to obtain an individual visa rather than a group visa. As part of this application process we will require your passport up to 6 weeks before departure. The cost of the visa will be added to your confirmation invoice at the time of booking. Please note that your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of your return.
Holidays to China (Beijing, Xi'an & Shanghai), full itinerary:
Please note that the itinerary below is just to give you an idea of how
the tour will look. You will do/have the opportunity to take part in
everything mentioned below however it may be in a slightly different
order depending on circumstances.
Day 1 – Travel from the UK across to Beijing
Meet your Tour Manager and travelling companions at Heathrow airport & fly to Beijing with British Airways.
Day 2 – Arrival in Beijing for a three night stay
As we arrive into Beijing early we will maximise our time in China and go to see the stunning Temple of Heaven (built in 1420) before going to our hotel for check-in after lunch to relax. This evening we will have a welcome drink in our hotel followed by dinner.Day 3 – Full Day in Beijing
Today we take you to see this stunning city of contrasts.
Morning: Included visit to the infamous Tiananmen Square. We will pass through the Gate of Heavenly Peace into the Forbidden City to see the vast complex of palaces, which was the home to successive emperors for more than 500 years.
Afternoon: After lunch we will go to see visit the 18th-century Summer Palace, once a summer retreat for the Emperors of the Forbidden City. View the pavilions and gardens before boarding a boat for a lakeside cruise (weather permitting).
Evening: After dinner, we will witness the amazing Peking Opera.
Day 4 – Full Day in Beijing including the Great Wall of China
Today is all geared around going to see the Great Wall which winds itself quite beautifully through the Northern Chinese hills.
Morning: We will start our day with a stroll along the Sacred Way and a visit to the Chang Ling Tomb Museum to see some ancient artefacts.
Afternoon: After lunch, we visit the Great Wall, one of China’s great Wonders built over 2500 years ago. You will have plenty of time to walk along the historic ramparts.
Evening: Enjoy the famous Peking duck dinner.
Day 5 – Fly from Beijing to Xi’an (the “City of Eternal Peace”)
Morning: Today we move on for the 2nd part of our Chinese venture as we fly to Xi’an, located in central China. On arrival into Xi’an we will visit the Han Yang Tombs en route to the hotel.
Evening: This evening we are off to the theatre to enjoy a traditional Tang Dynasty Show.
Day 6 – Full day in Xi’an including the awe inspiring Terracotta Warriors
Morning: Today we visit one of the highlights of the holiday: The greatest archaeological discovery of last century, the 2,000 year-old Terracotta Warriors.
Afternoon: We will visit Xi’an’s City Wall, a truly unique experience
Evening: Dinner in Xi’anDay 7 – Fly from Xi'an to Shanghai (China’s largest City)
Morning: Before departing Xi’an we will visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda where the locals come to this serene spot to practice their Tai Chi.
Afternoon: Upon arrival in Shanghai, we will meet our local guide and transfer to our hotel for a three night stay.
Evening: Dinner in Shanghai
Day 8 – Full Day in Shanghai
Morning: Discover the Yu Yuan Gardens and the Old Town district and visit the Jade Buddha Temple.
Afternoon: After lunch we will take a stroll along the Bund.
Evening: After dinner we will take in a World Class Acrobatic Show.
Day 9 – Full Day in Shanghai
Morning & Afternoon: Today you will have a free day to explore Shanghai at your own pace.
Evening: This evening we will enjoy a Farewell Dinner and reminisce on our many experiences that we have enjoyed in China.
Day 10 – Return Flight from Shanghai to London Heathrow
Morning: After a relaxed breakfast we will take the Maglev train (The fastest passenger train in the world) to Shanghai’s airport for our return British Airways flight to the UK
